For over 35 years, La Cordobesa has been a producer and importer of Spanish and Italian meat products. In 1976, La Cordobesa had its origins, when a Spanish guest worker, who brought traditional Spanish recipes from his home country, started a one-man business. In 1985 the company was taken over by Fred de Wette and his then partner and La Cordobesa Nederland B.V. found its origins. A year later he bought out his partner’s share to continue the business independently. For a few years now, his daughter Susan de Wette and niece Linda de Wette have also been involved in La Cordobesa. Originally, La Cordobesa sold mainly directly to the consumer. Little by little, the emphasis shifted to wholesale, partly driven by the increasing awareness of Spanish and Italian meat products among Dutch consumers.
